Upon talking to one of my fellow chums at college today we came across the topic of him getting a new console and he asked me which one would be better to get. Now being totally un-biased (well i try :D) i told him at the minute that there were 2 very good console out right now the PS2 and the X-box.
For the next ten minutes i explained as simple as possibly to him the reasons for and against to getting each console, stateing all the obvious about specs, games and why i went for the PS2 ect up to the point that i bored him.
To conclude our conversation that had lasted 20 minutes on this one subject... ok we were bored... he said that he would probably go for the X-box as the PS2 adverts were crap and so the games are probably too.
What does that say about how the adverts are attracting the current non gamers?
The misguided fool.

i know what you mean they are rubbish but people who want a console usually do some background information and read magazines on them to find out whats hot and not, i do get your point they are naff but that should not put people off becuase i think the adverts are original and appeal and make you think, don't judge games on an advert it is stupid!
But is it not the role of the adverts to 'sell' the PS2 and show non gamers that there are good games out there for it? If the adverts are not reaching the people then they have every right to think the PS2 is crap, because they are obviously not being showed otherwise.
You see adverts for life insurance, board games, childrens toys, films and loads of other stuff and all these are telling you how good they are.

My mate has very little to do with gaming so he asked me what i thought. If he hasnt got anything to do with gaming then he isnt going to know about any games that are coming out on any console like the PS2, if PS2 adverts are not going to show games on them how is he suppose to know which is the better or how good the PS2 is when there is a fat french bloke eating it?
