I believe Shepherds pie is made with lamb and Cottage pie is made with beef.

Hmm... does the vegies make a difference to the name? IE one contains veggies, the other doesn't.

No, I don't think so. I think it's just the meat content that determines the name.

Cottage pie also has cheese in it, although thats something people dont really do anymore.
