I've been toying with the notion of putting my face in a flatbed scanner for a while now, but IS IT SAFE? I won't come out all radioactive or invisible or summint, will I?

I reckon everyone should scan their hand, and post it up somewhere. Then perhaps a competition to "match the hand to the user". Most correct answers wins a game.

There's more radiation from the sky on a sunny day. But we know what excess sunlight does to you. Duh-du-duuuuh.

Seriously... it should be safe... just make sure you close your eyes. Or wear shades.

Surely it's better to scan a photo, though? A scan will be pretty poor, because you (obviously) can't close the lid, and will get light pollution.
