Shock horror!
I'd never have guessed.
Which means, within a week, Robbie Williams will come out with some statement or stunt to reclaim his crown as "Clown Prince of Pop".
It's almost like this whole thing is scripted.
"Will is gay!"
"So, his single is still really, really weak"
I do like the bit in the song where he says about "loving you girl...".
Nothing like integrity and honesty in your work huh?
Gay/Straight, at the end of the day, his song still remains an abject exercise in marketing.
> Yep, Will finally admitted he was gay.
It's a wonder nobody here from Exeter

I read that actually, but it was still blatant. I'm surprised no-one's mentioned Freddie Mercury in this whole gay popmong shenaniganary. He was one of the greatest pop/rock singers ever and it didn't matter that he was gay. It seems that they wanted to use this 'coming out' as a stunt to promote him a bit more. Now that we live in a more liberal society, no-one will care that he's gay - which makes it safe for record companies. If Mercury hadn't hid his sexuality, then Queen might have been been discarded by record companies who were wary about what effect an artist's sexual preference would have on record sales.
Still, Rik Waller is a sex idol no matter if you're a girl or a no-tail. Rrrrrrrr
And by 'alternative', does it mean porn?

Inspired.

Pointless job, still trying to save the world from corporate rock and still getting needlessly heated about topics I can do nothing about.
Batman never had these problems.
Howdy stranger, how you been?
> the same opinions.
You asked what constituted being a sheep was.
And I just offered my reasoning that being a sheep is buying into the whole Pop Star/Idol thing in the idea that it's about the music, instead of realising you're being played for your money.
That was it, but once more I started to type and it just ran away from me into this diatribe about the state of music today.
But Will Young does suck.
He said so himself.
The 60's/70's may have had some spurious credibility in that there was less marketing. Doesn't mean to say some of the goliaths of rock e.g. the Stones haven't gone on to furiously exploit it now. They sure ain't shy of commerical endorsements these days. I'm not sure if it was "principals" or lack of marketing oppourtunities that meant they had credibility back in the day.
Equally marketed pop has always existed think Colonel Parker and Thingy Berry of Motown fame to start with. They were total production lines.
From the Monkess to Take That and Pop Idol there will always be marketed pop. Doesn't mean its all bad news for the more alternative/creative music makers. The web has provided a perfect medium for creatives to publish their work.
I personally don't think we heading for cultural meltdown as marketing men tie themselves into orgiastic knots abou the tills ringing for Will Young.
I think the fact that he is gay is far more interesting. Not that being gay is interesting per se but we Brits only like messed up/monogamous gay men - Barrymore, George Michael or neutuered asexual specimens like John Inman etc.
I want to see if the Brits could stand an actively gay pop star. A man taking full advantage of the sexual oppourtunties that fame will present.
