Shock horror!
I'd never have guessed.
Which means, within a week, Robbie Williams will come out with some statement or stunt to reclaim his crown as "Clown Prince of Pop".
It's almost like this whole thing is scripted.
"Will is gay!"
"So, his single is still really, really weak"
I do like the bit in the song where he says about "loving you girl...".
Nothing like integrity and honesty in your work huh?
Gay/Straight, at the end of the day, his song still remains an abject exercise in marketing.
For the girl, it should be about how lucky the guy is to have you, to stress just how above him you could be, but you decide he is the one for you."
Sounds like real life
They have a formula, much like Grix said.
They said the following (roughly)
"It should be about unrequited love from a boy to a girl. You should be telling the girl that you love her and you would treat her right - you should reassure her that you are the perfect person for her and you would do anything she asked.
For the girl, it should be about how lucky the guy is to have you, to stress just how above him you could be, but you decide he is the one for you."
Just add a sprinkle of synth and bake in the oven for 2 weeks at 4 degrees and voila! Insta-hit!
I KNEW I should have added the seconds up. :0D
Bah, you know what I'm getting at. It seems that long, anyway.
Try 3:20. If a song goes over that then any radio station has to pay twice the royalties.
"I metioned it in FOG chat just after he won, but I suspect nobody read that..."
Yup, read it too.
And Freddy Mercury did rule.
"Would it then be acceptable to buy stuff that is cosidered POP now?"
I think that if you write and perform the music yourself, then you're able to perform it to a high degree. Otherwise, you're not really listening to S Club 7, you're listening to a fat perverted 40's man write lyrics about falling in love with teenagers, looking forward to seeing the band on Tuesday, hoping they're wearing low cut dresses.
Music is emotion, and that's my taste.
0-20 seconds - Instrumental build up.
21-120 seconds - First verse build, poss two/three singers.
121-180 seconds - Chorus - Big boom of instruments, all sing.
181-260 seconds - Second verse - Different singers
261-320 seconds - Chorus - Have boys sing same lyrics two seconds behind, quieter
321-360 seconds - Change key, small verse on how "you mean everything to me"
361-420 seconds - Chorus again, instrumental for big finish, hold last few notes
421-440 - Instrumental, fade out.
That's a design process. That's not emotion.
> I got conned like that with George Michael
Diet Coke.
