The Xport is a great little gadget.

Take Pro Evo 2 for example.

Some group of nutty fans on one of the fan websites have go through the edit mode of the game, changing all the player and team names from the stupid ones that are in the game by default, to the real life versions. They have also moved players around so all the new transfers are in the game. And best of all, they have gone through every single player in the game and lowered the stats ever so slightly. This was done because lots of people on the forum felt that PES2 was too fast and the midfield attacking players were to powerful. So by lowering the stats of players in said positions, they’ve balanced the game out, and I must say it player much, much better. However, if you don’t like the stat change, you can just download the option file with the player/team names changed and the transfers – guess the stat change Is down to personal taste.

Then, after all this work, they make it available on their site. I then simply downloaded the option file; load it onto my Memory card via my Xport and bingo. No stupid names, teams or out of date rosters – plus the game plays 50% better.

Plus with an Xport you’ll never need to buy another memory card again. If you need space, you simply transfer old save game files to the PC, then if in the future you need them again, like if you go back to an old game, just move them back onto the memory card. You can effectively have a huge database of save game files on your PC, only putting the ones you are currently using on the memory card. And at £25-ish a go for a memory card, this is a big saving.

Xport rocks*

(as some yoooff might say)

Oh dear.

In future please read the topic before you flame someone. It usually gives you a hint as to the subject matter of the post that lies within, and better still, it may stop you looking like a total idiot as you do now.

Maybe.

For those who don't know how an X-port works *Cough* - Jive

A USB cable is plugged into one of the USB sockets on the PlayStation 2, and a USB socket on your PC. Then the PlayStation 2 software is run, which reads the memory card and then communicates with the PC via the USB cable. The PC software is then installed and run. Within the PC software there are functions you will want to perform - read what files are on the memory card; select a number of files on the memory card and 'check them in' to the PC (to copy them to the PC); and write a file, on the PC, to the memory card - Basically copy your files over and save them to your hard drive on the PC.
