"Might have made a *bit* of a fool of myself...."

For one of our modules we have to, in a group, design and produce a toy for a child. In my group are me and my mate, and two french lads.

We were in the lab the other day, and another French lad, a little fella, wandered over and started speaking to his mates in French. So me, being Mr International Relations, said in my best French voice:

Je Voudrais Un Chien.

Which means, "I want a dog."

This didn't go down too badly.

The little fella then turned to me and asked why not many english people speak french. So I turn to him and say "Because it's crap."

Ooooops.

Maybe I should think about things in future, before I say them. Needless to say that all of my hard work with the dog earlier was wasted...

Perfect tense, past tense, future tense...blah de blah de blah..

So boring at Standard Grade (Scottish GCSE)..got my reading and writing prelims tommorow..

*sob*

Oh, and lol at the 'because its crap'. A typical mistake that I would, and have, made, not only to the French, but to almost every race. Also, to one of my friends...

'So whats your brothers second name?'

I went on a French exchange once. My God, I'll never do that again, made a complete a** of myself (They said some massive sentence to me, I didn't have a clue what they said, so I went for the safety and said 'Oui'. They laughed their a**es off at me), and I starved for a week (Your right Tony, their food is cr*p). Wine for breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday might seem great, but not if the wine tastes like toilet water......not that I've ever tasted toilet water.......
