What's the point of having a console if you have a Laptop PC?

Surely the future is in Laptops, especially if they become essential school kit.

The only argument I can see against them is the three weeks it takes to rebuild the system after installing a joystick.

Also Tony, Mac's profits and sales are not huge compared to that of old and what you may be talking about. Yeah its been a rollarcoaster ten years for Apple since the VX but their computers and EVERYTHING they touch is just fantastic!

Processing power isn't really an option and one day probably very irelevant. Software holds most of the tricks and techniques.

I think it may well be possible to see a kind of mutant of them both, Ie a console with similarities to a laptop and vice versa. Within time we will be able to do this.

We have come a long way and have a long long way to go.

1. They plug in too.
2. Screens are excellent
3. True but is processing power still an issue?
4. Keyboards on laptops are rubbish
5. Still very expensive
6. You'll change your big PC for a laptop - I bet.

But hey - we're talking about the FUTURE of gaming.

Tony, Tony, Tony.

Laptops have got three, very distinctive disadvantages:

1) They run on batteries. Laptop batteries last what? Two hours? And if you say you could plug it in, I'll say why not get a normal PC.

2) They have poor screens. I find conventional PC screens much better than flat-panel, LCD and Laptop screens because on those mentioned, there is always without a doubt, trails and glare. I hate trails.

3) Size. Normal PCs will ALWAYS be technologically more advanced than laptops. It's the whole size things.

I understand your idea, but the fact is if you want to get a laptop to rival PCs spec wise, you're going to have to spent thrice as much. It's a rip off, and to be honest IF I'm going to go to a LAN party, it's not exactly hard to take my PC with me. And besides, I do the majority of my gaming at home anyway.

Obviously though, somebody got a new laptop :-).

My office is only on the second floor (any more than that and I wouldn't make it up the stairs.
