Its my honest opinion that the XBox should fail. If it succeeds then we as a group of gamers, and gamers as a world grouping. Can say goodbye to Nintendo's hardware. Its obvious that the massive conglomerate of Sony will never be crushed away, as its profits are too high in the console and entertainment world. Its vital that Nintendo stay healthy, because without them we would have gaming halted for Microsoft and Sony to dominate and cash in on pointless and sellable games.

I have changed my mind. I don't often do. However, recent events have shown me some light. Sony aren't that bad a company, sure, they use their synergies and completely over advertise the market. They maybe even guilty of premature releases, and just wanting (like any company really) to earn a solid profit.

Sony. They, are now the good guys. Microsoft. They, are now the permanently disgusting bad guys. Why? Why couldn't they leave the gaming market alone? What do they think they are doing?

Remember that court case? Yeap. That Microsoft, 'split up or melt down' one. Well, they were scared, Bill soiled every pair of boxers that month because of that case, this was when they knew they had to move dominance. What could they have? Excellent. The console world, the profit centre of the industries bar films.

With this, and Bill's stains, they decided to make a console, centered around the shape of the reviews they get back from every decent magazine on their operating system.
It was not long before it was made, released and marketed as 'the best of the consoles'.

ITS NOT.

Reasons... well my list wouldn't end, and no these would not be 'its crap' or 'Nintendo rule' arguments. I would basically review the XBox just like most american 'decent' magazines.

'Its a low end market PC, without the screen, but more expensive'.

That is the er-box. We don't need it. Because we have Sony and Nintendo.

I just pray with all my gaming soul. That the GameCube is a success, it has to be, for gaming to get better for us all.

This is my honest and 'fair' opinion. Yet again the XBox crashed on me today.

'WELCOME TO WINDOWS. WELCOME TO XLAND. WELCOME TO HELL'.

You.. mr nobby. Are a complete monkeh.

Apple - you pay for quality, what you get is amazing.

Microsoft - you pay for crap - then loads more for addons.

No, because anything made by Mircosoft is either five years behind on Apple.. stolen from another company, or... just 'crap'.

I completely agree. I would rather see Nintendo get a good shot at the market then that cash-cow of a box.

m$ need to realise that you cant throw cash at a machine and hope it sells, and you cannot polish a terd, (i know the spelling), but that is what they are rtying to do.

Buying out companies like they did with oddworld, 100 million or whatever it was on advertising, different controllers and special editions for different countries, but at the end of the day it's just a non-modifiable PC the size of wales with a handful of games that won't stick around while the machine goes under.

I'll be getting a GC, and keeping my PS2. I won't be lining gates' allready well lined pockets.

i also admit that sony and the PS2 are good. Infact my brother is playing on his brand new PS2 as i type this.

i can accept a PS2 in the house but i will never let an xbox near me. And if i won one i would hide it under the game table (low table for consoles and tv) and put the GC n64 NES and PS2 on top.

I don't think that Apples are better, but they are substantially more stylish in looks than a beige box. They just suck for games.

Yeah i agree that they have done loads for the computing world but my point uis not that. Its that they exploit global markets and i personally think this is wrong - a prime example is the price of the X-Box, hasnt Gill; got enough money.

I was just making a point about Microsofts monopoly power and how they are exploiting their power in many different markets apart from computing markets. These include education markets aswell as they say they are going to give away free computers etc. in US - but really they are trying to make inroads in yet another market.

If you don't like the Xbox, don't buy it. Personally I like the look of Project Goptham and Halo very much, as well as Jet Set Radio Future among others. There is no point in ridiculing people with different tastes to yours.

Tough. MS already has entered, and has spent so much money in doing so, that if they don't make some money back, shareholder will not be happy! Also, are you trying to tell me that Nintendo, Sega and Sony were never guilty of selling overpriced software or hardware??? Give me a break!

This I agree with, but aren't MS funding smaller, independent developers through some kind of programme where they get cheap dev kits?

Ohhhh, a wonderful company like Sony would never bribe for exclusive game rights would it? * funkygamer says whilst playing on his version of Metal Gear Solid that was original intended for the N64*

Damn, isn't that what Ridge Racer was?

Didn't do the Dreamcast any good though did it?
