Ok, I tried a cd, and it worked great. So its not my sound card (Phew) it worked fine before, so im guessing that im missing some important drivers or something Codec or something.
So, could someone give me a bit of help, and help a great friend fix his computer :o) Pleeese :o)

Go to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Sounds and play back some form in there. If they sound fine, then the drivers you have installed are fine.
That means it's either the program you're using to play the MP3's (which is unlikely seeing as you've tried lots of them) or the actual MP3's are corrupt - doubtful as you've played them before.
If the Windows sounds are crap, like the MP3's, then you have a driver and/or Windows problem.
You said you now had Win 98, did you have Win 95 before? If so, your CPU is too slow as Win 98 needs a faster system than Win 95.
If you had Win 98 before, and the sound was fine, then I don't know what it is.
But it sounds like your system is just too slow to run Win 98 and play MP3's at the same time.
