Gamecube does not.
You can watch films on X-Box.
Ergo, it wins.
It may need three freight trains to move, but you can watch Dogma on it.
Argument settled, you are all getting an X-Box. Or a PS2.
Mallrats is an 18 as well isn't it??
So, French Connection? Usual Suspects? Father Ted Series 2?
I could get the Suspects because I can afford to wait, I should be getting the Region X in a couple of days, and soon I'll be the proud owner of the new Ocean's Eleven as well as a few others I'm thinking of importing.
Well, I've got 90 days to mull it over. :D
Oh yeah, misterhappy, did you finish my story?
Due for release on 29/04/2002
Alright, maybe not THAT soon. Still, you must get.
> "Yes, yes onfess!"
'onfess' being the less common pronunciation* of 'confess'
*ie limited entirely to Mr Happy
It's great, you'll love it. Excellent story, told really well.
Dogma - pokes fun at Catholic dogma but Kevin Smith is a practising Catholic, so it's all good-natured really
Hollow Man - not that good, but not too bad
Father Ted Series 1 - distilled geniusness
The Green Mile - get the shawshank redemption instead - it's cheaper, better and also based on a prison story by Steven King
Hot Shots 1 and 2 - Rock
Evolution - saw this on the plane to America and the plane back - not out of choice - not funny enough but still funny in places
X-Men - the best action film of recent times (actually includes *shock horror* characterisation!
Me, Myself and Irene - It's on sky soon anyway...
I'd recommend the French Connection box set because they rule. And the car-chase scene is actually real. When the car gets hit, it's for real. And that means that it rules. And it has Gene Hackman trying out mindf--k interview techniques on suspects:
"You been picking your feet in Ploughskeepie?"
"What?"
"Did you pick your feet?"
"Pick my feet, what?"
"Did you go to Ploughskeepie take off your shoes and sit on the edge of the bed and pick your feet?"
"Yes, yes onfess!"
genius.
And your parents probably have heard of it and like it.
Nice.
Third Man... damnit, must remember to get that. Must win Fad, must obtain DVDs...
"Yes you are!"
;)
Anyway, as your both the film experts, can you recommend a DVD for my GAD prize?? Your favourite, or one that would be suited to my tastes (not that you know what my tastes are). Already got:
Dogma
Hollow Man
Father Ted Series 1
The Green Mile
Hot Shots 1 and 2
Evolution
X-Men
Me, Myself and Irene

Um and I'll read your pikey post after I've written a couple of things for my school newspaper -'The Warwickian"- and having endured the required-level of obsequity it takes to write paeans to the school rugby team, despite their only having won 5 of their matches and being proud of tactical vomiting so they can drink even more alcohol, I will go and read it.
I need an incentive to get me through the effort of writing these things.
