The great thing about fish is that they're crap, and you don't care if they die. Which is handy, since they kick the bucket if you so much as look at them funny.

My dad used to keep tropical fish and we had japanese fighting fish who just beat the crap out of each other then ate the dead ones. It was cool to watch.
Get some of them and watch them battle.
Oh and don't put beer in the tank, we did that to a friends fish and it grew a very large lump on the side of its head before it died.

They give you this gel stuff that stops them getting 'stressed' and dying and cleaning stuff in water.
Which means they're stonned and I don't need to change water just take some out and put some new stuff in with an oxygen tablet.
I'll cry when they die, then do buy some more.
