Or something catchier with the same meaning.
But anyway, I'm doing a solo prog metal project. Well, I think it'd be classed as prog metal.
I'm going to be messing around this afternoon trying to get the best possible sound I can on the distorted guitar... the clean one comes through really nicely just by sticking the mic next to the amp, but the distorted stuff is more difficult.
So Lord Funk, if you're good, I might just save some of it and upload it. Except I don't actually have anywhere to upload it to, but hey. I'm sure I'll work something out.
That's an interesting idea about releasing it as an instrumental by the way.

Better than us. Our ideas are completely random from session to session.

I find that it ebbs and flows like the tide. Sometimes I'm high and dry with no creativity and I create pure crap, sometimes I barely spend 30 seconds on a genuinely brilliant idea, before I hit another one.
I find this particularly true for myself and not so much my friends. But they're better at developing ideas better than I am...

I don't actually know. I'm not a distant enough critic to compare it to stuff.
Vaguely though, it's rock. It's not heavy. It doesn't have extremly aggressive struming, more chord backed, entertaining riffs, with a strummed chorus.
Er. Yeah.
:S

Add one here, Bob.
:)
I need to check out the competition.

I've decided that I'm going to release the whole album as an instrumental. No vocals on the net copies, just so people get a taster.

Cool... I have, I'm not sure... 3 or 4 complete songs right now. And a few things that need developing. But I seem to have lost the creativity lately. Which sucks. And it never works if I force it. Probably the same for you...
So what kind of music are you playing?

Nuh-uh. But I might mail something to certain people.

For example, yes I did.
Ohh are you asking to hear that? I'd rather not send that to be honest... I hadn't really learnt the parts and the end was a kind of sloppy. It was just a test to see how it'd sound. Although I've worked out a way around that, to an extent. I know you're all very interested so I shall tell you. I turn the recording volume on the mic down low, then record onto two tracks, so what's going into the mic is at a low volume (so it picks it up better... don't ask me why), but it's then doubled up by the second track.

I would be flattered if Ukranian drug handlers payed for my music. But all profits should be made payable to me remember. Don't make me sue you.
For example Bob said something about mic distortion 'that you heard'.
We can copy 'em, burn 'em to disc and then flog 'em to Ukranian dung-handlers for petty sums of money ... or just listen
Currently we have 1 completed song (mine) and 5 halfs of songs.
I too need to learn how to play them though.
I'm getting a new amp (with a fing beautiful clean tone) for my birthday, then I want to record everything. I might need to buy a better mic though because you heard how the distortion comes through on my current mic. Actually, I can't play half the stuff right now. So I'll have to learn a lot.

Well as much as I like my current music career, it's not exactly paying any bills right now.
Luckily, right now I have no bills to pay.

Don't worry, that's all exams.
So, going for any part time job 'til then, or are you just sticking with your current music career?
