I have recently purchased an xbox. i also own a ps2 and i was wondering what you peeps out the favour. whether it be the ps2 or the xbox

X-Box is technically better (specs). (fact)
X-Box has X-Box Live. (fact + opinion)
X-Box has some promising upcoming games. (opinion)
X-Box doesnt have a great deal of good games now, (opinion)
PS2 has a wider range of games available. (fact)
PS2 doesnt seem to have many upcoming games that appeal to me. (opinion)
So, in conclusion, it depends what you are after.
Take a look at the games for both consoles. Then get which one you like the most games for.

Of course its about the games - but that will always be opinon based and in my opinion the X-Box wins there as well. Just because PS2 has the quantity advantage doesn't mean it instantly has the quality advantage too. I mentioned the performance of the consoles because that is something that is etched in stone fact - only a complete mong will try to put their hands on their ears and attempt to say otherwise.
As for how long I've been playing games, I've probably been playing them since before your mother offloaded you screaming into this world mate. ;-)

Please tell me that wasn't an attempt to make out that the X-Box is a DVD player primarily with games coming second because if it is, I might have to REALLY laugh at you. ;-))
The PS2 has a large catalogue of games - great.
But, games™ stated that nearly all of them are medicore, and only a few a brilliant (GTAVC, Getaway ect)

I have had PS2 since just after release and have only purchase Xbox 1 week ago, it was a difficult decision to make as I have enjoyed lots of great PS2 games such as GTA, GT3, MGS2, Silent Hill, Code Veronica - the list goes on and on!! However now I have an XBox technically it wees on the PS2 from a great height, Halo is amazing and being the games addict I am, I wish I had purchased xbox for this ages ago. Also think Splinter Cell is brilliant.
The release list for no console looks very good to me in the shorterm, but I am already looking forward to Halo 2. It realy is a shame that some great games such as the GTA series are not coming to Xbox as it could really do justice to these games. GTA VC is a great game which I own on the PS2, but I always get the impression the the PS2 is strugling with the graphics.

No, it's just that earlier you stated that the Xbox was ONLY a games playing machine...I was merely correcting you ;]

First of all you're comparing a system that is almost 3yrs old [ps2] to a system that has been around barely a year! It should be 'weeing' onto the ps2 technically as you put it and a lot more - did you expect any different??? Alas graphics aint everything, as the clued-up games buying public will testify with regard to it's woeful sales figures.
