Last October Nintendo of Japan unveiled the official name of Zelda on GameCube. Labled Legend of Zelda: Kaze no Takuto, it was unclear how that name would translate into English.

Many of you said it was the Wind of Takuto. Well here is the official US and PAL name.

THE LENGEND OF ZELDA: THE WIND WAKER

The question is...how the hell do you wake the wind?

Link gains the power to make people get out of bed fast by blowing off in their face?

Oh god, at least Winds of Takuto was remotely good.
But no! They had to go and ruin it completely.

Yes, we already know this.

It has a wand, and you have to swing it in time or something. Theres a picture of it with a meter over his head and something...

Well you could have the "Wind" meaning that big bird who stole Link's Sister; "waker" could mean the big baddie that is 'trying' to take over the world.

"Winds of Takuot" does sound much better. But I'll be happy with "The Wind Waker" as-long-as the game lives-up to all-expectations like Zelda games have done in the past.

What was the Japanese name for Ocarina of Time, just out of interest?
Does anyone know??
I know that "Majora's Mask" was "Majula's Mask" in Japan, but I just wondered how different the greatest Zelda game was in Japan?

More importantly... What does this tell us about this new game??
Does Link discover a "Wand of Wind" that manipulates the power of the wind in an Ocarina-style with Time, making Link "The Wind Waker"??
Or will the "The Wind Waker" be an evil-force - like Majora's Mask in the second Zelda 64 game when worn by the Skull Kid...

There could be quite a few possibillites!
