I have a 7 year old PC
Its rubbish
7 GB hards drive
96MB RAM
133Mhz

Its total crap
My dad will not agree in buying the family a nu one.
Shall I buy one myself?

It actually wouldnt be that cost affective to build your own as to buy one from a manafacturer (here for instance) as not only do they build it for you and add the software (windows xp will set you back £80 on it's own) they also have a 1 year warrenty, which if a piece of hardware becomes faulty they will fault find it and replace it and you won't have to, the one thing to look out for with these cheapo manafacturer one's is that they are cheap for a reason, usually using generic no name hardware which will not last as long, also not giving you windows disk only a setup disk as they have purchased a bunch of licenses, The MAXX pc rangre actually uses quality components and comes with a proper windows XP cd.

My advice would be to Buy a MAXX CE2000/MAXX P4 2400.

autdirect.co.uk do some really good base units, just add hard drive, 3D card and monitor. (eg. XP2000, 256mb DDR etc 250 quid). Friend bought one from them in March and has had ne trouble at all.
Take a look, they are the best locally to me.

I got a flyer through the post yeaterday, from a reputable PC manufactuere, selling a P4 2.4G for 399... though bear in mind, its just the base unit, and that lacks the monitor

In 1997 I had a brand new 233Mhz.

My advice would be to build your own computer. There's plenty of comprehensive information on building a computer on the Internet and if you follow the instructions carefully and avoid handling the components carelessly and allowing static damage to occur then you'll be fine - and it's harder to damage components with static electricity than some people will have you believe. I think if you choose your components carefully (don't always opt for the very latest CPU or graphics card - go for a model down, to save money) then you can easily build a new system, capable of running newer games with good graphics options enabled, for around £600, including a good monitor. It's worth looking into - I built my first computer at the beginning of this year and it's been far more reliable and up-to-date than any manufactured computer I have bought and it has exactly the specification I want - there are no compromises (that you're often forced to accept by choosing to buy a pre-built system) - it's also been the best value computer system I've ever had!

The most cost effective way to get a new PC is to build you're own, that way you can spread the cost by fitting everything yourself when you want. The only trouble is it's a massive undertaking and will require some knowledge of fitting parts in a computer.

what you must do is not buy a new pc just buy new stuff like a new proseccor and thing like that
