I'm not surprised that Edge magazine, usually one of the clueless critics on games, gave Blue Dragon a 6.
They're crazy. If you plonked a Dunlop tyre on their desk and told them it was a surrealist multi-format RPG they'd give it a 9 and the last paragraph would read along the lines of "This little known developer has taken a huge risk to break the stale mold of repetitive storylines and unoriginal turn-based combat and the results have paid off in the most original, ground breaking and attractive game to grace our offices in years."

Yes, that was pretty entertaining, if a little irrelevant in places.
I'm really surprised that Edge magazine, usually one of the harshest critics on games, gave Halo 3 a 10. I've been playing all this last week and it's a great game, but the graphics aren't as good as they should be and by all accounts it seems that the single player is a bit short, so I'd give it 8 or 9 possibly.
For me it's got a great control system, nice graphics, great gameplay (both single player and online) and a lot of love and attention.
As with other games, films and music, it won't be to everyone's taste, which is fair enough, but as long as someone likes it, and in this case loads of people do, what's the problem?
As has already been said, if you loved Halo 2, then you'll love Halo 3. If you're not a fan of the first 2 - don't bother with Halo 3.
IMO, it looks a bit common and over hyped nowadays.
