Manchester United are in talks to sign a 20-year-old midfielder, who has been called the new Maradona, the News of the World reports.
The paper says United have offered £14million for River Plate's Andres D'Alessandro.
An Argentine official says: "Talks are progressing."

I just sooooo hope this is true. Love to see this guy at Man Utd. Heard so many good things about him. Along with Saviola he is one of Argentina's great young talents.
Hopefully it isnt just paper talk...
Makes sense though, signing another Argentine player could keep Veron happy, and make him feel more at home.
I saw him play against England a few years back, in the U-21 match live on Sky!
He looked fantastic, and I could see then that he was gunna be huge! He'd make a great signing for United, and could do very well behind the front 2! But after proving again that the 4-4-2 is the only thing that works, he'd just be a wayste of money, like Veron!
So I don't think he'd be a great signing, unless he wants to be a back-up, squad rotation player, or wants to wait for Scholes to leave the club.
