and probably some others who i've somehow managed to forget. But does all this equate to being the greatest WWF roster ever, or is it a sad reflection on the WWF title losing face and being tarnished by too many un-worthy champions? Gents the argument is all yours...
RVD does seem to have gone backwards a bit since he was in that triple threat match for the title in the Alliance days.
> Lol, yer on my video Uncensored 1999 (crap event really) it has Kevin Nash Vs
> Rey Jr. As a return match, best match of the night, Nash did a huge Jack Knife
> looked ace.
I have that event, and that was a pretty good match, with a great ending. Rey Mysterio Jr was called "The Giant Killer" after that. Bam Bam Bigelow is hardly a giant now is he? He's just festively plump :0)
"Juventud was cool too, though he imitated The Rock too much."
That was great. He'd climb the buckle, acting all OTT. "Finally da juice has cum back to Greenbille (English translation: Greenville, USA)." Anyone remember when he lost to Chris Jericho at Superbrawl 1998 and had to remove his mask? Psychosis got the same treatment a few months later :0)
"I liked La Parka's little dance thing. That was the greatest (apart from the spineroonie) the Chairman of WCW."
Yeah, that was cool :0)
*Backtracks*
"psychosis did some crazy stuff when he returned to ECW"
That's because ECW give them more freedom to do basically whatever the hell they want! :0)
"Also Big Show is crap. He cant sell moves and he is a waste of money."
To ba-fecking right. He has the wrong attitude, and when WWF wanted him to lose weight, he literally laughed in their face.
"I think that the WWF has too many hevieweihts, as I have said many a time they need to invest in cruisaweights! Why buy Billy Kidman and Not Rey Jr? Mad I tell you!"
Yes! They need more lightheavyweights. In all fairness, Kidman is a great lightheavyweight. Get Spring Stampede 1998 - a great event with a superb match between Kidman and Rey Jr.
"People like Vince holding the title devalues it a bit but it is still the most important title in wrestling."
Right again! The "undisputed" title (even though Chris Jericho carries both titles around with him) as it's called has no meaning to me. The WWF title used to be prestigious, but now I don't give a fun who the champion is, because it is 100% meaningless, with any old dicky winning it. For a good title reign, look at Yokozuna's 11 month monstorous reign as champion, or Bob Backlund's controverisal 5 year stint. Most of you probably don't go back that far, but do some research and find out more about these reigns - it should entertain you for an hour or so.
"Certainly not. The greatest roster ever was shorter than that. It included HBK!!"
This could become a reality with HBK rumoured to be coming as a member of the NWO...nah - the rest of their roster sucks major donkey balls.
"Rob Van Dam deserves a title reign. He's a great wrestler and is exciting in the ring and has got some of the most original moves ever seen from a wrestler. And he's certainly got the confidence to be the champ"
I think WWF are trying to make him more well-rounded before giving him a title, but you can't deprive RVD of his moves, because they are so great. I say put him against Y2J and see who walks out with the title :0) There's a unanamous winner!
"I do remember when the champions would hold their titles for years! Literally! Still I like it the way it is, it's not too bad and with champions holding their belts for at least a few months the importance and respect of holding the belt is still there."
Not really. Anyone who has even a 4-year knowledge of the WWF can tell you that the respect has taken a complete nosedive since the days of Hogan .vs. Warrior, where it got the crowd in a great mass of cheers. These days, the fans just throw cans and litter into the ring, as a mark of their hatred. Sickening.
"I think Kane deserves another/longer title reign."
I think that he needs to become a lot faster before getting another reign, but he definately deserves it, considering his last reign lasted a feeble 25.5 hours.
Rant over :0)
Juventud was cool too, though he imitated The Rock too much.
