Someone told me that they are making a Playstation 3 is this true.I hope not because everybody will buy it and I will still have the Playstation 2.

But I think that the PS2 will last about 7 years because of it's great graphics and they won't want it to last about 4 years because they want to make a load of money out of it.

Id say 4-5 years, when the PS2 is about 6 years old, depending on its success.

Yeah, chances are Sony are working on the PS3 right now, but dont worry, it wont be out for a while yet for two main reasons i feel.
Firstly the PS2 has only been out over a year and has not 'got going' as much as Sony would want it to. There are some great games out on it already but better ones coming on the way all the time. Most consoles have a life span of about 5 years so there is still plenty of time in the PS2 as yet.
And secondly it would do Sony no favours by releasing it now either, there fans, me included would seriously be mad if they released it so soon after the PS2 launch when i have spent so much money on PS2. Not many would buy it and it would be a flop.

I heard PS3 is in development at this moment so it can be ready for either this or next christmas, so it can fight off GC and Xbox.
