I wanna get boardband and with ntl
I get to choose between the super duper 512kbps connection at the luuuuurvverrrly prices of either £53,£34,or £25 a month...

Or the not so super duper connection at 128kbps for a great mystique can afford this £14.99 a month

But is it worth me paying £14.99 for a 128k connection? or shall i just stick with my 'i wanna throw the pc across the room cos its so damn slow' 56k modem?

Does anyone have the 128k option?
How fast is it really?(time to download an MP3 is a good example)

I have Telewest's Blueyonder and I feel at £25 per month it is great value of course you have to take it has part of another package to get that price, but with the phones going to unlimited use for local and national calls for the same price more people will take up the option when it is avaliable in their areas.

If you download lots of files then it is great value for normal internet access the increase speed of loading pages is hardly noticable.

Eurgh, don't get NTL whatever you do. BEing surrounded by Cable users in chat rooms and forums every day I have come to hate NTL like the devil himself. All I ever hear is bad things about it. Get BLueyonder instead if its in your area.

The problem with NTL broadband is that you have to get it as part of a package. This means with the Phone service, or with the cable TV.

So if you already have, or want, NTL's digital TV service it works out quite cheaply, but if you don't you have to get an entirely pointless second phoneline and pay monthly line rental on it, which comes to about £35 a month.

But my friend has cable and he says it's much better than the ISDN line he had before. So the 128k option might not be as good as going for the all-mod-cons cable set up. And the site lies about needing a network card to use the modem, it has a USB connection as well.

Hmmmm, I was thinking of going broadband with NTL but still not so sure.

56K aint soooo bad for downloading MP3s. Only usually takes about 10-15 minutes on average so not that bad. 128K would be about 5-7 minutes and 512K would be about 1- 3 minutes for a MP3.

NTL are ment to start charing soon for 0800 dial-up, anyone know when they are gonna start doing this? I might go 128K then.
