Here a question.

How long do people think the N64 has left to live?

With games like Perfect Dark, Zelda: The Continuing Sage, Turok 3, A Resident Evil game, Top Gear Rally 2, and a bunch of other wicked games this year. How long will the N64 live for? Specially with the PS2 and Dolphin on the horizon how much longer can the N64 last?

....better than all the rest! I think that even Tina Turner would have at least one product by Nintendo, don't you? I mean they are just 'the mut's nuts' when it comes to computer games and consoles. I have at least one of every kind of Nintendo's different formats, including three gameboys, a NES, a SNES and last but not least, the Nintendo64. I have never bought a single game for any other format or console since I recieved my prized possesion N64, there's no point really. I know that anything that comes from Nintendo is going to be of the highest quality and standard that you can buy around and I think that all of the other consoles like the Greystation and the Creamcast, doesn't even come close to the gameplay, lastability and overall enjoyment that I myself and other gamers experience or have experienced over the last few years, it just doesn't compare. And anyone who says different, is going to find themselves straped to a three-legged chair using several joypad extenders, sat in front of large 63 inch TV with an N64 linked up and over 100 games to play, lets see if that person can resist the temptation to play on it. I think that person would and afterwards that person would say that the N64 is the best, most worth while and best priced and rated( rather underated) console......IN THE WORLD!! time that we've been with

Rainbow six has good graphics and a real-life storyline, but the sound is annoying, but the controls are smooth.
I agree with you on Banjo-Kazzoie. Buying it is a worse idea than trying to break in to government files.
F1 grand prix is good. F1 Grand prix 2 is crap, with bad graphics, sluggish controls and terrible commentary.
Turok Rage wars is good, if your good at it (I am I own it, Ant came round to play, and isn't)
Perfect Dark will be a great game and will come out.
Other great titles include: GoldenEye, Zelda, Diddy Kong racing, Donkey Kong 64, Duke nukem zero hour, F-Zero- x, need I continue???

I'LL TALK TO YOU AT SCHOOL ABOUT THIS!!!!

Some of the newer N64 owners might not realise this as much as to the people that bought it when encountered the shores of England, but my point is this although the playstation bring out loads and loads of new brand spanking new games every day! they only bring out one game that scratches past the gaming hall of fame every 6 months or so. But when you paid your £100+ for your Nintendo you knew that their would be brilliant game after brilliant game passing through the doors of your favorite games shop doors, games like Mario 64, Goldeneye, Mariokart just to name a few of the games that will be loved and cherished by all N64 gamers from around the world, this is when you realise that the N64 won't go out of fashion for a long time to come even when the dolphin enters my front door, my N64 will still have it's own spot in front of my tv. Multiplayer games will still be played when your mates come over, even if their is a new game that is a hundred times better and faster..........it will never be forgotten.

The evil Baby Koopa has stolen the Yoshi's "Happy Tree". The younger Yoshis set out to retrieve their Happy Tree by going through the pages of a storybook. Baby Koopa plans to hold the Happy Tree forever so that the Yoshis will never be happy again.

The graphics in this game are very well done. They had a lot of extra space on the cartridge because the game is 2D. When you zoom in to sniff the graphics will get very blurry and pixilated. The backgrounds are very impressive. There is one background where everything looks like it is a balloon. Another where the backgrounds and enemies look like clay. The enemies, where are they? There are a few, but most of the game is simply jumping. There were some enemies that would go after you, but they were so easy to kill I don't know if you could even call them enemies. Most of them are very blurry and pixilated, zoomed in or not. The graphics in this game were hyped up to be very impressive, and the best yet for the N64. I think that they were hyped up way too much for what they really are.

The music in this game is full of Japanese lyrics, and horrible samples. It sounds very childish and repetitive. Some of the sound effects in this game are disgusting. When Yoshi does his break the law of gravity jump it sounds like he is horribly constipated. You always here the sound of a bunch of eggs following Yoshi on the ground. The sound effects are about as poor as the music.

The controls were good, but that's about it. The levels were short and you only had to do one level on each page. There are four there, but in order to turn the page you only have to do one. There are only six pages in the game, each level getting easier as you progress. You sometimes run into a boss at the end of some levels. The boss will literally tell you exactly how to kill him. Where is the challenge?

Nintendo has done a few things wrong in this game.
1. If I wanted to play a 2D game I would play my Nintendo, not my N64.
2. They aimed the game at the wrong age group. You don't see 6 and 7 year olds playing N64. They can't afford them. They wouldn't even know what they were doing when they were playing.
3. Nintendo bragged about the graphics in this game being so good. They aren't anywhere near as good as they were hyped up to be. When you think about it they are really bad. The game is only 2D, so there should be lots of extra cartridge space to make these really good graphics. Why not use it?

Turok is based on a comic book. He is a time travelling warrior who has found himself in a place known as the lost land. There, an evil warrior known as the Campaigner is trying to find the eight pieces of an ancient powerful weapon, the Chronosceptor. The pieces of the weapon were scattered throughout the lost world to keep them from falling into the wrong hands. Turok has vowed to find these eight pieces and foil the Campaigner’s plans of taking over the universe. The Campaigner has sent out his robotic creatures to try and stop him. Turok will be fighting up against Raptors, Dimetrodons, aliens and more. With the help of his Indian spirit, Turok hopes to make it through alive.

The graphics in this game are fairly well done. The Raptors are fierce, and slash there long, razor sharp claws at you. The bosses are extremely tough, fast, and very well designed. A few of the things in the game are way out of scale, whether they are much too small, or too large. The enemies have strange faces, which are not as good as Goldeneye's. The trees and other scenery look horrible. The bushes all look 2D and the trees look really fake, with their bad colours and textures. The grass texture is not very good, and the pistol does not look realistic. A lot of the things that move look good, but everything else is nothing for Iguana to brag about.

The sound in this game was good. The gun shots sounded good enough to be called gunshots (most of them just make that). The music in this game suits it, but no more than that. It is really not very good, just a drum beating most of the time, but it does give the game a sort of jungle feel which I believe it was intended to do but nothing more.

The game was very smooth, but there were never very many enemies on the screen so it was not very exciting. The controls in this game I did not like. I wish that they had been more like the Goldeneye controls. If you have both of those games then you are always going to be getting the controls confused. Very frustrating. The one major flaw in the game was all of the jumping. If you ask me that's called taking the easy way out of making a game hard. Instead of puting in lots of smart enemies, you put in a bunch of stupid jumping. The game is called a first person shooter, that means shooting, not trying to jump across the floating rocks.

If you are looking for a first person shooter, I suggest Goldeneye 007 over this. If you are looking for something a little gory, and don't mind all the jumping then here you go. This game is ok for a rent, it's not the type of game I'd ever buy. It's long, and can be quite difficult at times, but also very frustrating.

This is an average game for the N64 for all users, The graphics in this game are nowhere near as good as Mario's. You can tell that this was one of the earlier games just by looking at the graphics. The characters and vehicles all look good, but some of the scenery (example: boats, trees, and enemies) look pretty bad, even for an earlier N64 game. The next thing that was coming onto the screen would just suddenly pop on, they might have been able to use the fog effect to make it subtler, but that would have been the easy way out. I think that they should have been able to make it better in that aspect, but for some reason they didn't. That is the way it is for a lot of things in this game. The game is short, easy and has no real story. I think that Nintendo was just looking for a quick game to put out for their new system.

The music was very well done. It really suited the game and in some cases made it more fun to play. Each vehicle had its own music. I'm sure that everyone has heard the hanglider music. It is very popular. The sound in this game is good. The sound of the wind blowing as you fly on your hanglider and the flame burn on your rocket belt sounds very realistic. The gyrocopter isn't really a very good sounding vehicle. The sound of the motor is good, but when you bring up your aimer to fire a missile it makes a stupid "beep" sound which can get annoying if you're having trouble aiming. The actual sound of the missile firing is good though. The music and sound on this game is really good. I liked it a lot and I think that it really helps the game.

Pilot Wings 64 is a good game, but definitely not a game I would suggest anyone go and buy. There has been talk of a Pilot Wings 2, this game would be able to fix the poor graphics in Pilot Wings 64, and they could put in new vehicles. Pilot Wings 64 is a good game, but I wouldn't take it any further than a rent unless you really like it.

This is a good game, and it is definitely worth the rent. There has been talk of a PilotWings 2, but nothing official yet.

Most of what you've said is correct, but one sour grape out of 15 games? Come off it! Poor N64 games: Rainbow 6: Dull, poor graphics, no plot and poor controls. Banjo Kazooi: That's spelt wrong. The song at the start really, really annoyed me, AAAAAAHHHHH!!! Also, poor graphics, gameplay and overall a stupid idea. F1 World Grand Prix: Poor graphics, control and overall a below average game. Turok Rage Wars: Boring, repetitive and no meaning to my insignificant life. Is Perfect Dark ever gonna come out (Also, it's not as good as Metal Gear Solid, the king of all games). The list could go on, only a couple of good games. Think again, TheBest, talk to ya about it at school tomorrow.

The Nintendo 64 has not been around as long as the Playstation, but has a lot of
successes to show for itself. It’s main development teams ( Rare, Nintendo etc.) keep
on producing great titles, with only about 1 sour grape amonsgt 15 good games.
The Nintendo 64 is now reaching the end of it’s life, soon to be trampled on by the
playstation 2 and the dolphin. The N64 games will go down in price, good news for
those buying the Dolphin or waiting till the playstation 2 goes down in price.
The N64 is cartridge run, eliminating all loading times, and also making development
easier, as cartridges are more versatile than CD’s. The machine is capable of rendering
amazing graphics, and has sound which is as good as the PS’s CD’s.
The controllers are nifty, easy to use, and good looking. The memory cards are cheap
(except the official ones) and work very well. The rumble pack is a never before used
concept, which is easy to use and effective. But any N64 owner will tell you that the
lack of stering whells, and abscence of light guns is annoying.
Nintendo never goes for qauntity over quality, putting a lot of time and effort into
making one game, not a little time each on five.

My advice is, if you have an N64, keep it until the Dolphin’s release, or the
playstation 2, don’t buy one now.
