I've just been across to the wipeout website and taken a look at the forums.
The thing is, people are talking about upgrading their ships with gained money. I've asked how you do this but there doesn't seem to be anyone around. It's pretty dead over there.
So, has anyone else actually used money to upgrade their ship? I'm almost 50% through but I haven't even realised that you get money!!!!

When you go to the AG league thing, at the point where you pick your character, there is a very small menu down the bottom, that says: O - Upgrade ship or something.
Before the championship, but after you have just selected your ship I think.

What mode/screen are you guys using to upgrade? I haven't found it yet, but then I've only done the first championship, a couple of arcades, a few challenges etc.
Does upgrading come later or something?

Is it just me, or did the ships in arcade mode get faster along with you when you upgrade? I`m sure they seem a little quicker now... or is just that the upgrades aren`t that great?
Indeed I did. No, seriously I did. I didn't go and turn on Wipeout and work it out from there. I really did get the info from an invisible post. REALLY!!! :-D
