How quick could you do the very first level on Sonic 1 on the Megadrive? My best was 28 seconds. Next.

I did it in good faith though, to help a poor lost soul who had never played a Sonic in his life. It was for the greater good of humanity.

Should be less than a fiver on ebay. Everybody's got it, so it's not exactly that expensive.

You have to find a spring, it's massive and angled, and it sends you flying. Most people find it difficult to locate but for some reason it's on the natural route that I take. Hmm. I *have* to get a copy of it...

You can... no wonder I'm doing so crap.

Are there any runny boots on that level?

You can go off the screen for an absolutely massive part of it, over half the level. As I remember, it's near-impossible to hit the big ring because you fly right past it.

i remember completing it really fast but did'nt really pay much attention to the time limit.

I seem to remember doing it in 14 seconds, but I must be wrong, surely. I never even owned a MegaDrive!

my best was 23 seconds, which apperently is very close to the record.

It's very tough to get 21 seconds with 50 rings. I did it a number of years ago but I remember it clearly because it was such an achievement. I remember hearing somewhere that the official record was 21 seconds.

Yeah, thought that... it's just when I jump over the first, I hit the crabby thing, and that slows me down, and I end up landing before the damn rock... and have to jump over it that way.

I've tried bouncing off the crabby thing, but it's really damn hard.
