i only really got into rpg three months ago when i bought divine divinity. its a brilliant game despite any reviews you may read.the way it's structured is brilliant with an evolving storyline which keeps to what youv'e done and the non-linear nature of the game. no set course so you can ne a theif ,merchant ,warrior anything you can think about. i also like diablo 2 but its to linear for me and its very biased toward you.
The first game i ever got for the pc was red alert and from that day on i have never loved any other game more. i have virtually all the c&c series plus dune 2 dune 2000 and emporer battle for dune. Now one of the best strategy games i've ever played is warzone 2100. It's the second most realistic game i've ever played and probably the first 3d strategy game. With reaserch and unit design it rivals the amount of features on modern strategy games and I love the way your'e main base is on a map which expands as you complete missions and having away missions to capture new technology. The only more realistic strategy game i have played is earth 2150 lost souls. which requires you to reload your units.
my favourite FPS has to be unreal tournament. brilliant online and you can play against bots by youself. it has so many mods aswell. its just pure fragging fun.
To be honest though, I think Breed will be better online, seeing as that's the area the game is being developed for. No doubt I'll own both though, so it doesn't really bother me which will be better than the other.
> Planetside does look good, though I think Breed could be better.
> Certainly looks better, graphics wise anyway.
When is Breed released? is it out before Halo?
Will make time for Star Wars Galaxies when it comes out though !
FPS - Because they're fun, and quite involving at times.
RPGs - Not my favourite genre, but I do like playing these just to break once in a while from the stratagy and FPS titles I so often play.
There are other genre's of course, but those are the three I invest most time in.
