The funny thing about this game is when a games magazine is doing a review of the up-coming titles and it's always there with the release date 'Forever'. There is no information being leaked from 3D Realms them selves but they still insist in will be done when it's done, so that'll be 2020 then. In all truth i actually think they've given up on the game and don't want to admit that they've failed bringing what would have or could have been a good game to life.

Perhaps Bill Gate wants to get his little filthy hands on Duke Nukem: Forever for the XBOX before it comes out on the PC. Just like he did with Halo and Splinter Cell. Did anyone else hear the rumour that bill gates payed off the developers of Splinter Cell to release the XBOX version before the PC one?

The question is though, why would microsoft buy a games developer who have only really produced one game over the last couple of years? Duke Nukem: Manhatten Project is about all that's come out of the developer in a long time.
Draw your own conclusions but as ever don't hold your breath as a wise man once said.
However, with the release of UT2003, and the upcoming Doom3 etc, they'd better get it out NOW, before it looks dated!
This is just an assumption though, I also think if the game isn't released next year, then I doubt we'll ever see it released.
