At the studio, the guy who owns it has cable.
And I've discovered "MTV2" and "Kerrang TV" or whatever the hell that's called.

I thought "Fantastic!" and watched it during lunch for the past 4 days.
Except I have only ever seen the following videos:

POD "Jesus is Great!" (something like that)
A "Gimme some skin" (something like that)
Marylin Manson "Tainted Love" (dude looks exactly like PJ Harvey in that video)
Puddle of Mud "Control" ("I love the way you smack my ass")

And that's it.
There might be some other bands around, but that's all I've seen.
Puddle of Mud are cool, not nu-metal crap but old fashioned dirty rock.
"A" have a singer that sounds exactly like Sting, and POD.
Christian Nu-Metal?
Please, that's an oxymoron, "Christian Rock".
And Marylin Manson covering a Soft Cell song? Please, go back to doing Alice Cooper's act and leave me alone.

What's with this rubbish?
So many mid-30s Americans in big shorts shouting about how tough life is (in multi-million $ videos).
HAHAHahahahahahaha

Can anyone say "Bandwagon"?
Oh, and Blink42Sum187GreenStump or whatever that 3-chord "Chugga Chugga Chugga" band is constantly rotating.

*shakes head*
Enjoy being different and "Non conformist" whilst all looking the same and listening to the same music and watching the same music channel.
Wow, how indie of you.

Still, a couple more years and you'll wash that blue out of your hair and get a job.
And then you'll discover blues/jazz/funk/CLUTCH and life will be good.

Nu-Metal is.

Right, I'm going to have to download some Clutch, even if I have a deep hatred of any metal. I know it's a form of rock ,my favourite genre, but it's too boring with the same idiots beating a drum too loud over and over again. But I'll give it a try with an open-mind. Which is more than I gave Pearl Harbour. So give me a name of the best track, please.

Indie music, bah. Indie films rule, and are still non-mainstream...kinda. ;-)

I was very scared yesterday. My younger brother had left one of his albums in the communal computer room, and in a completely unexpected-good-taste-shocker it was a clutch album. I momentarily did a double take, scarcely believing that my brother, whose musical tastes extend to some bloke going "Rargh raaaa roooaaaarrrrrrr!!!" over some chugging unharmonious guitars, had a decent album.

Once he was having problems writing a track to a cdr and so he asked me to help. Out of curiousity I listened to the track and found that I could skip through it using the slide bar to any point and it linked seamlessly to what had gone before. Forwards, backwards, no matter what point you skipped to the singer's non-sensical roaring and the chugging guitars blended seamlessly. And yet he has a clutch album... why is he still listening to crap like that?

Also it is worth watching Kerrang for an entire day just to see the new Ozzy Osborne song, "Dreamer". It is a ballad. It features Ozzy crooning "I'm just a dreamer / I dream my life away / I'm just a dreamer / who dreams of better days". He even spouts the following verse:

"If only we could all just find serenity
It would be nice if we could live as one
When will all this anger, hate and bigotry ...
Be gone?"

Yes, this is the man who once bit heads off doves. I was expecting it to be a joke song, but as it lurched into its fourth minute the necessary time for the loud guitars and screams to start came and went. It was actually a ballad. By Ozzy Osborne. Incredible. Also this traversty contains the drummer from Faith No More.. how could he do such a thing?

The final deeply worrying thing is that the video is directed by Rob Zombie. This is the man whose movie was canned for being too gory. But the promo video contains children dancing in the snow and Ozzy's band jamming in a candle-lit room. Where's all the gore? Where's the ironic send-up of teeny-bopper fodder? Then the horrible realisation dawns on you. This IS teeny-bopper fodder. Scary.
