In order to pave the way for some moderate restructuring the following changes will soon take effect:

The Intelligent Discussion forum will be merged with General Chat and renamed General Chat & Discussion.

The Wrestling and Martial Arts forum will be merged with Sport.

We apologise to the users who have supported these forums, especially the instigators and moderators. The existing moderators will move across to their new forums with the exception of Smeddlers who is already a moderator on General Chat.

Also
Creative Writing & Design will be renamed Creative Writing.
An Avatars On or Avatars Off button has been placed at the top of each thread.
The sign up and make your first post process for new users will be streamlined.
Longer term work will begin on measures to encourage more games posts and comments.
Staff Moderators have been asked to award more of the available GADs for overall chat forum contribution (not necessarily most posts or best single post)

We probably need the names of the moderators for that forum listed at the top of each forum page.

Creative seems nicely settled and I don't think it should be disrupted with undue discussion. Chat already has most of the discussion, and some of it is quite intelligent.

Housemates - please do not swear, you are live on the internet.

Thanks for that.
In case others have also missed it, perhaps a reference could be added to the http://chat.freeola.com/popups/users_popup.php page which explains the types of users? As looking at the 'Top Posters' page doesn't seem very intuitive to me...

You know all those ideas that were suggested in that other thread, i didnt see anyone suggest this one, the reason is that it's a bad idea. General and Intelligent should never be merged.
General for small talk and nonsense.
Intelligent for everything else.

Your idea of putting Intelligent in with Creative wasn't a bad idea, this is. It also means you cant put the WLT into Intellgent and stop it killing General. All you need to get Intelligent moving is have the active posts move to the top of the page, you've killed it by putting it down the bottom of the list.

Yeah ok, i dont think anyone cares anymore about this one.

I just look at the top poster list to see who mods which forum =)

Also can a mod de-sticky my GAD thread. It's not really needed now.

As for what Tony said, it all sounds good, I just hope he plans to make the changes soon. =) Also are we allowed to bug him with the PrivateMessage link under his name?

Moderators are listed on the Top Posters page. Perhaps we should rename it Mods & Rockers.

Thanks for the info, sounds like a good start.

Have I missed something; but how can you tell who mods which forum? Perhaps this could be flagged somehow in their profile.
If I've missed it please let me know.
