I'm trying to edit some videos and I've already gotten stuck. =/ From experience with other editing software I want to highlight a section of clip I dont want and then press delete. It usually works but for Adobe Premiere Pro it doesnt. =( What am I doing wrong? How can I cut up my videos and delete clips I dont want?
Links to any videos showing you how, would be great. Cheers guys. =)

If you've never used Adobe Premiere Pro we can always talk about something else. Umm Canon have just released information about their new 1ds Mark III DSLR camera. 21MP blimey. I think it's $8000 in America and $12,000 (£6000) in the UK. ¬_¬ For that price you may as well fly to New York for the weekend and pick one up. You can even declare your purchase and pay VAT at custom and STILL have change left over.
Oh that's right, you guys dont chat about photography either. *pout* If only Tony didnt get rid of the Gadget forum.
Thanks V_M, I just need to figure out how to put images in the Titler.
As for the titler text styles, they dont look that good =( And the example I made the quality was a bit poor. I have to wonder how anime fansub creators do such good jobs Click
I'm just creating a short videocast and a tutorial (which uses that programs that films your desktop). So I need to create a watermark and an image to place at the beginning.
I just imported an image and put it in my timeline. How do I change the amount of time I want it to display? Same question for titler titles too. There doesnt seem to be an area I can tell it to be so many seconds long and I dont think I can just stretch it in the time line.
Any help appreciated :)
Premiere is an editing tool, not audio manipulation... you wouldn`t use a fork to eat soup.... unless you were special ;)
not sure about capturing from webcams in premiere... i think adobe generally feel that if you can afford premiere, you`ll be using a decent camera.... not that i`m implying you didn`t pay for it you understand, trial version right? ;)
titles:
right click in the bin, and choose "title"
or
file -> new -> title
this will take you to the titler where you can create your text and i`m pretty sure you can put images in there as well. once it`s made you CTRL+S to save and close the titler window.
the title will now be in your file bin, drag it on to the top video layer (or create a new one if needed) and there it is!
EDIT - i think you can just drag it onto the timeline above your other layers and it`ll create a new one automatically)
you can adjust the opacity in "effect controls" if you want to fade it out after a few seconds.
good luck mate!, what are you working on?
if you get stuck again just post in here and i`ll try to help you out, i know my way around most adobe software pretty well.
click at the start and end of the section you want to chop out
press "V" - that`s your select utility
select the bit you want to delete
press delete.
if your start/end points weren`t quite right then you can adjust them by dragging. if you zoom in closer then you`ll have frame-precise control.
hope that helps!

I would very much! Definitely money well spent for me. It's only £90 and takes pictures up to 8.3 mega-pixel. It also has video capture with sound, but like all compact photo cameras, the video quality isn't great. There's also a massive selection of shooting modes on it. It was a very dark night when I took this shot using the nightscope.
It also has auto-focus and supports both SD cards and xD picture cards, as well as 11MB internal memory if you don't have an SD/xD card handy, but because of the high quality of the photos, they take up a lot of space and the internal memory only holds about 4 or 5.
Very good buy though if you go for it.
