I walked into my local Chelmsford SR store this afternoon and what hit me straight away was the green/black X-Box in a display stool, and better yet, it was playable!

I played Burnout on the display PS2 until they went and then took a gander. The controller was surprisingly easy to get used to, albeit a little chunky. It was basically a hybrid of the Dreamcast/N64/PS1/PS2 controller, and it felt great. A demo-disc was in the Box and I had a look at a few of the games.

Firstly, I looked at Project Gotham Racing, a playable demo. The tracks are exactly the same as the ones on Metropolis Street Racer and it even has the old "Kudos" system, which is used to advance in the game. Hell - the game is made by Bizzare Creations, the creators of MSR! The game is good, but the steering is so hard, in that you have to power slide around every corner and let go of the acceleration about 5 seconds before getting anywhere near the corner!

Then I looked at Dark Summit, a snowboarding game. This game has the best graphics I have ever seen for any snowboarding game ever! Screw SSX, screw Tricky - this is better! However, I have a complaint about the controls - they are horrible to begin with, and take about 10 minutes to really get used to.

"Shaun, we have to go now"

That was the next thing I heard. There were 3 or 4 other games I wanted to try and some videos I wanted to watch (Munch's Oddysey), but I had to go :(

I need to make those trips to SR more frequent.

And my 10-year-old sister and my old man had a good old chuckle at F.A.R.T The Movie.

Oh for hell's sake, shut up. Shaneo made a decent topic about the X-Box, so that we could write all our opinions on it too, and see what he had to say about it.

Now if he cheats again, then fine, you have a go at him. Heck, I exect I would. He's made a few mistakes, and he's learnt. If he'd copied again he would've been found out by now, probably because of people like you who have to check up on all his posts and reviews. At least misterhappy was only joking around, but you have to come along and just point-blank insult.

If you don't have anything interesting to say, or you don't like him, then say nothing, rather than turning these great forums into some sort of fight club. If you want to take out your frustrations on something, then go bash the crap N64 I expect you won with a hammer.

*wipes forehead* Glad I got that off my chest.

Played it the other day at work, PGR was nice, much better lighting than MSR had, but the cars look melted, especially as they reflected everything. And when they dent they dont look right either.

The pad is good, except for the face buttons, i dont have large hands, yet my thumb could dover them all up, way to close for my liking. But still nice, but nothing id wana pay 300 pounds for. Will get one later thou.

hee hee

There's a shop down a little side road in Norwich that is absolutely packed with PAL XBoxes. The shopkeeper obviously imported them from Australia. Bloomin' expensive, though.

I held an XBOX before it went into the display unit at a certain shop.
I live in Ireland, so there is no such thing as a SR Shop here.
Anyway, its pretty big! And heavy too. Plus the Controller is massive too and pretty comfortable in my hands.
Never got to play a game though.

The coolest ISP ever!
In my opinion, the ISP is the best I have ever used. They guarantee 'first time connection - everytime', which they have never let me down on.
Easy and free service!
I think it's fab that you provide an easy-to-follow service, and even better that it's free...!
