so it all makes -19-(-1) =20 there sorted
You probably end up with something along the lines of "09=11-2"
I'm just too smart for my own good....
make that out of matches and take away one match
you are left with XX
which is 20 in roman numerals

Superb, toffee crisp to misterhappy.
I read that in the Beano five/six years ago :)
Bet you all feel stupid now
Three men go and stay in a hotel (don't ask why) and are told by the receptionist that the room would cost £30. Each man pays £10 and goes upstairs. However, the receptionist realises the room should have only been £25, and sends the porter upstairs with the erroneous £5. THe porter realises that £5 doesn't go three ways, so he gives each man a £1 each and pockets the £2 left over.
So, if each man ends up paying £9 each (£10 originally, plus £1 in return) and the porter pockets £2, why does that only add up to £29? 3 x £9 = £27 + £2 = £29? You figure it out.
> You forgot the £1 in return
What £1?
