a very good question.i actually have five gc games so i could easily tell you that to a milimetre.
basically the laser has to move less further to access different sections allowing information to be loaded faster off the disk.
interesting point to note is that the gamecube i think reads at about 1.5 meg a sec (is it seconds) at the centre of teh disk and 2.5 at the outside where as teh Sick-Box is about 4 at the rim and 3 at the centre which just shows how much time is spent going back and forth.

its late no way im checking grammar or making diagrams so soz :(

i like your question its a good one.
i tell you what, youd be hard pressed to tell the difference between a cartridge load time and teh cube load time.
i would go so far as to say that its three times faster than the x-box or ps2.
i love my cube and did i mention to day i saw my first x-box runningn etc and got to the touch the controller and in my mind it is now official @swear word@ so to speak in my opinion

What is the track distance on GC optical disc?

Compare this to normal DVD discs and show, using diagrams where appropriate, why GC games can theoretically have lower loading times than DVD based games due to the Optical disc structure alone. Marks may be awarded for spelling and grammer.

This'll get ya, for sure:

Which console manufacturer design and manufacted the Gamecube?

Heck, that's SO difficult, I'll make it a multiple choice question! Your options are:

a)Microsoft
b)Nintendo
c)Sony
d)Atari
e)Special Reserve
