OK, I've got OmniHTTPd, but how do I set it up as a php server. At the moment all my files save as '.php.txt' rather than '.php'.

Nah, neither of them worked.

Alternatively, change the "Save as Type" dropdown value. By default in Notepad it's Text Documents (*.txt) - If you change that to All files, it'll let you save with whatever extension you give it. Whatever's in that dropdown is added to the end of the file name, even if you've already added your own extension, but All Files adds nothing.

When you save a file, try putting it in speech marks before saving.

So instead of saving it as My_Page.php save it as "My_Page.php" then it should save it as a .php file.

It still does the same thing, but with wordpad's extension instead.

Ah, well there's your problem. Use WordPad, or another HTML editor like 1st Page.

OK, I type it on Notepad, go to save as 'filename.php', but in Windows Explorer I get 'filename.php.txt'.

Right click on the icon in the taskbar. What exactly do you mean by turning them into .php.txt?

I did, but they always end up as .php.txt files, which is useless. How do you set up the application? I'm assuming that you've got to do more than just double click it and let the icon sit next to the clock?

Well, it's easy to reconfigure it to parse .php.txt files as well, but you *really* should name them .php.
