OK, I've got OmniHTTPd, but how do I set it up as a php server. At the moment all my files save as '.php.txt' rather than '.php'.

The thing didn't work either. I don't reckon NTL actually support PHP.

Well besides your HTML being extremely messed up, NTL don't support PHP, because they're not sending the text/html header. Try putting the PHP code inside the body tags, your browser is probably ignoring the include()d code, for obvious reasons.

Sorry my mistake. It IS an .php page, but like a t**t, I typed .html here. The test.html page is also uploaded (I'm not that stupid).

I get an error page too, which is why your include won't work, as that test page isn't there.

Have you got the address correct, spelling extension (.htm instead of .html) check that again.

Also, I'm not a NTL user but just because they use PHP for their site doesnt automaticly mean they let their user Webspace use it.

The file you include doesn't have to be a .php file, unless you have PHP code within that file also, but the file calling the include code must be a .php file.

I'm not sure that ntl do support php for their webspace users, but I'm not a subscriber, so I can't tell. Like Turbo, I get page unavailable on that URL. But did you try the page out on your own web server (Omni... or whatever), first, before uploading it?

I get a 404 on that.

What's the code you're using? Also, php pages must have a .php extension on them.

Actually... that's not strictly true, but enough of that.

Ok, I've managed to save as .php now and in Windows Explorer it says .php file, so no probs there. BUT. I'm doing that 'include' thing and it doesn't work. I've made a file called phptest.php and it references a file called test.html, but the html file doesn't appear. I've uploaded it to my ntlworld webspace if you want to have a look and tell me if I've done anything wrong (I'm assuming ntl support php because their homepage is php based):

Cheers

I had this problem, what I did was when I was in Windows Explorer, click on Tools > Folder Options > View. There should be a box checked somewhere saying that it will hide file extensions, uncheck this then change the file extensions manually.
