"Recommended PC games"

Hi. For my 18th birthday last month I was given a brand new PC (a bloody nice surprise, seeing as I had no idea what I was getting), but I'm running a little low on games for it (Solitare and - ugh - Minesweeper don't count). Soon I'll be going online on it (I'm using my brother's PC to type this, before you ask) so I'll obviously want games that are fun to play over the 'net.

At the moment I have:

Grand Theft Auto III
Quake III Arena
Theme Hospital
Zoo Tycoon
Zoo Tycoon - Dinosaur Digs

I'll have to get back to you on the thing's specs (seeing as I'm no expert), but any recommendations you might have would be most appreciated.

Well most of what i would reccommend are already listed so i only have one thing to add.

Command and conquer red alert 2

Excellent multiplayer, if you get it, look me and/or phi11ip up and we will give you a match.

Warcraft 3
Mafia
Commandos 2
No ONe Lives Forever 2 (good quality laughs)
Soldier of Fortune 2
Jedi Outcast (bargain at £20)

Also get Splinter Cell, which is suppose to be out at the end of the month.

There's some great games coming out this year, right now I'm looking forward to:

Doom 3
Sim City 4
Black & White 2
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Oblivion Lost

Operation Flashpoint
MOH: Allied Assault
Dungeon Siege
Warcraft 3
Mafia
Commandos 2
Morrowind
No ONe Lives Forever 2
Soldier of Fortune 2
Return to Castle Wolfenstein (Has a great multiplayer mode)
Age of Mythology
...They should get you started.

For multiplayer game, I'd suggest you pick up a copy of Half-Life (it should only cost around £10 now) so you can play some top multiplayer mods. Some of the first games I played online where HL moids, and they are a great introduction into online gaming, but also free. Mods I'd suggest for HL are:

Day of Defeat (WW2 mod, and my favourite online game)
Counter-Strike (Good, but very difficult at times)
Firearms (Like CS, but easier to get into)
Team Fortress (Pure deathmatch fun, another favourite)
Natural Selection (A new mod, difficult, but with lots of potential)
