thank you, I really needed to know that!
I am sure that there are lots of lucky people out there whose PS2's are working,
unfortunately that response doesn't really help me!

Mystique,
you say micromart.co.uk
can you give more of a clue where as this is a magazine site
who did you actually use?

Thanks for the help!

What she means here is, "If only I'd read the post and topic heading in the first place....my apologies"!

Ohh if you said that in the first place..

http://www.micromart.co.uk/

They pick up your PS2( you have to find a shop where their reps goto), give you a free quote and you say yay or nay. It'll come back fixed or not depending on what you say.
They fixed my PS2 and you get 90 days gaurentee with it too.
The disc drawer will probably cost about £50, not posative though.

Tried a crowbar?
Hammer?
Pneumatic drill?
Saying please?
Making sweet love to it?
High explosives?
A fall from a helicopter?
Flowers?

Thanks for the prompt responses,
not all useful though :(

The main point is the disk drive drawer is STUCK!

I cannot get it to open, read or anything!

The suggestion to contact Sony sounds like the only option!

No, not still in warranty - this is an early PS2 (Jan 2001)

Any more ideas out there - please!

Thought the title of this post would have given the game away here Myst, PS2 Disk Stuck....usually means the disk is err...umm...oh yeah stuck.

Try giving Sony helpline a ring, don't bash it like someone else did the other day, plus is your PS2 still in warranty? If it is then Sony will probably replace it for you without any trouble.
