"hm. Xbox troubles"

My Xbox has started the process of not recognising discs now. It happened to a couple of my games and I had to eventually turn the machine upside down then back again to get it working.

This is not good news. I will have to sort it out tomorrow. I've heard that this has happened to quite a few people already and gets worse over time.

No, the noise on the PS2 is probably the fan.

Dont think it's DVD. I had a 2 speed CD drive on my computer some time ago. Slow but no noise! Got a 24 speed cd drive with a new computer later, and it was really noisy.

The Gamecube does seem to be the most stable of my systems. The PS2 makes a lot of noise, the xbox had the problems I mentioned earlier. Could be the DVD format perhaps, or the technology used to read it. THe Dreamcast is still fine too.

U know some consoles can be duff (ps2, GC, or Xbox). Remember how Dixons were done for putting out returned pc's as new... What happens if they get a duff console return - put it back on the shelf - ready for the next customer? Not good!

Xbox and PS2 troubles. Nintendo trouble? I dont think so :o)

Had loads of mates complaining that PS2 chews up their discs. Like the outside of it. Scratching it to bits. It still works but after a while it has to affect it?

20+ Mates complaining.

And my little GC? Just keeps on playing!

Did any other PS2 games give you similar probs?

I bought a brand new one with splinter cell, but my copy of SC had a huge chunk out of it, and my xbox wouldn't accept it.

Fair enough you may think, however when I took it back to the shop, it worked on there xbox fine.

My PS2, before I sold it to the same shop, had loading problems, especially on streaming games like GTA:VC, where I would be cruising down a street, and suddenly there was no road and very few textures, things like trees hadn't appeared yet.

When it was doing that too frequently, ~I got rid of it.
