QUICK NOTE = Japanese animation is called "anime" Japanese comics are called "manga"

Some of us know how popular anime is, others are still stupid enough to call it kids stuff (pokemon) or sick perverted stuff (something released by Manga Entertainments). When will people grow up.

Anyway here are a few conspiracy theories where some popular movies have been found to be a little too similar to certain anime series or movie. Here are some websites that go into them in a lot more detail. You'll also see scene by scene shots for you to compare similarities between the two.

The Matrix Vs. Ghost In The Shell (anime movie available in the UK)

The guy who made The Matrix is a big anime fan (didn't know that did you?) and the Matrix is heavily based on the anime movie Ghost In The Shell (GITS) which was hoped to be the next Akira. Despite being a big fan of the movie and being heavily inspired there are a lot of similarities. If you haven't seen Ghost In The Shell you can buy it in the UK or you can watch it free on the Sci Fi channel on Saturday 2nd February, 12:30am (http://www.uk.scifi.com/anime.htm for a list of many other popular animes on UK TV)

Disney's The Lion King Vs. Kimba The White Lion (anime series available on Sky)

Remember the Simpsons episode where Bleeding Gums Murphy died and "Simba's" father appeared in the cloud before Lisa, he was quoted as saying "Avenge my death Kimba... I mean Simba" a little something added in when this conspiracy was big news and big trouble for Disney. Kimba Vs Simba. They claimed they had never heard of Kimba The White Lion despite most of them growing up as children when Kimba the White Lion was popular in America. A lot of Disney animators are big anime fans and some get taught in Japan. Check out the link below and see for yourself.

Disney's Atlantis - The lost Empire Vs. Nadia (anime series)

Although both being inspired by the same novel by Jules Verne. And the fact that Disney are trying to be more mature 9like animes) i.e no singing, talking animals and people dying, there still seems to be a lot of similarities between the two, some people might dismiss it but I still think there's something there. Once again Disney had never heard of an anime called Nadia, you'd think they'd check out every anime ever made to make sure it never happened again, but I guess not. See for yourself. Some of the screen shots are just too close.

That's all of them for now. I'm sure Disney aren't stupid enough to do it a 3rd time. Or are they?

I have Akira, and I've watched Ghost in The Shell and Legends of The Overfiend.
Also a huge fan of the Tetsuo films and have *taps his desk next to him* Battle Royale.

I just don't get Anime, not saying it's crap, it just does nothing for me.
Dirty cartoon porny-vision.

I see...but you should watch Street Fighter to at least get a proper look at manga, and not viwe it through a dark-tinted window

Mapplethorpe was a legitimate artist, his works sell for thousands of dollars.

A US state tried to prosecute him for obscenity, but failed under the "Artistic Expression" defence.

What some call erotic art, others call filth.
That was my point with Manga/Anime, the fans call it art and those that aren't fans call it filthy cartoon porn.
It's all in how you look at it.
