Argos are doing ALL PS2 games for £29.99 or less (and before anyone says they only have a dozen or so titles- i am referring to their online shop). Simplygames have started doing all top 10 titles for £29.99 as have others.
So why are SR still asking £34.99 or more? Can anyone answer this.
They even want £35.99 for BMX XXX yet i got it in GAME in St. Helens for £17.99, priced £19.99 but had 10%off sale on.
I am a member of SR because my son is mad on games but i don't shop with them very often because i find them so expensive compared to everyone else, i would love to know why they charge so much and how they get away with it, are people just stupid or got so much money they don't care?

Greater overhead costs, probably. This could be completely wrong, but Special Reserve are in the middle in terms of games retailers - they don't have as many stores as GAME, yet they are unable to compete with smaller retailers who usually cut prices to attract more customers. GAME, Argos and the like are at an advantage as they can use their size to order vast amounts of stock at a lower price per unit, therefore passing on the savings onto the cusotmer.
SR also have to worry about leftover stock more than these high street chains do - for a firm like Argos to buy loads of copies for WRC2, then sell them at a greater discount than usual when customers aren't buying them, is no great loss - but for SR, it could be more damaging due to the company's size.
I could write a report on this like all the city bankers do to get on TV, but I won't because it's boring. But hopefully you should understand a bit more now.
I might know him.
Maybe...

That statement is completely false. Who exactly are you £10 cheaper than? I have never found a single game with SR that couldn't be got cheaper elsewhere. Okay so you might beat the likes of WHSmith,Comet,Curry's etc. the kind of shops no-one with a btain goes to anyway.
Argos are a high street shop, Game are a high street shop, they both beat you for price.
I personally like SR, reliable, quick, catalogue each month, but i don't buy games from you because there is always somewhere cheaper.
Why couldn't you just explain why you charge so much more than others do? If most places can sell for less then why can't you?
I recently bought BMX xxx for £18 less than you charge, i am now about to buy Ratchet & Clank and Burnout 2 for my son at £27.99 and £29.99 saving £11 on what you are charging.
I know you have the right to charge what you wish and obviously prices will fluctuate from place to place on certain games but it seems that you are over the odds on ALL titles and unwilling to explain why.
If people can't be bothered to do that then it's thier own fault for wasting their money, I'll agree that sometime SR aren't the cheapest around but I still order from them when they're about the same.
SR take note of price difference !
Amazing huh.

My Bro ordered this from Play.com for £17.99 last night!
