This is a debate on whether nuclear arms are good or bad.

I am for, not because of their power and the demolition they cause but because they can be used to threaten rebel countries like Iraqu so they do not start wars or problems.
What do u think?

Me and my mate andy were both going to join the army he went a long to the selection weekend and didn't like it and i ended up in cirencestere college.
I was going to take a job at a place called hunters hall near stroud if you know it, but it was only £100 a week and i didn't fancy being a chef full time.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad there are violent thugs armed with weapons that are willing to defend this country from...um...Argentine?
No, that was thousands of miles away.
Um...Al Queda!..no hang on, that was America.

Just who are we defending ourselves against again?
I forgot.

I'd rather be a useful member of society than in the army.

Now this isn't going to be a popular opinion, but it's just mine.

If you join the army, you have to expect to be shot at and possibly killed.
I don't like the idea, hence I am not in the army.

It seems a simple equation:
No Army = No Shooty Death

Did anyone watch this last night? It tugged the heartstrings, 20 men of the same regiment (10th Lincolnshire)buried together, the grave was dicovered by some french geezer, and the MOD decided to cover it over and they would remain 'unknowns'. These men (some of them were only teenagers) fought & died for us, and that is how it ends up - no gravestone, nothing.

The USA annoys me when it comes to war. The last two world wars they not only turned up late but they took all the credit. If the brits hadn't won the batttle of britain then the world wouldn't be like it was today. We would be speaking german and the world would be under germanies command.

Thats very true. The states is the fattest richkid in the playground, and it gets us to fight (and pay for) their battles for them.

Can't hold your own, boys?

Nuclear arms are very bad in my book, no need to resort to this, whether as a deterrent or not. All war is bad, I know its needed sometimes but after watching BodyHunt last night on C4 (and sobbing my eyes out), I think its a complete waste of young lives, people expendable to the government.

And why the hell does this country get involved in every other countries wars anyway? As if we havent got enough problems in the UK as it is, the government gets involved in every war going and us, joe public, foots the bill.
