Hey,
There could be a game based on the liberation of Afganistan and chucking the Taliban off of power. This could be a FPS and levels could range from The Northen Alience fighting on the front line to stealth missions in the complex that is in the mountains (i forgot what it is called). Would this be good claiming revenge or just insulting. There have been games made about WW1, WW2, Vietnam, the cold war and stuff so why shouldn't there be a game based on this?

Personally I wouldn't buy this game.
Although in a sinical kind of way it would be kinda fun, but I don't think it would be popular and I certainly wouldn't buy it.

Would such a game be a little simple and risk free?

Simply fire hundreds of missiles into Afghanistan from a safe distance?

I'm sure in years to come there will be a game that has a Bin Laden look-a-like as the bad guy, just like Desert Strike used a Saddam Hussain look-a-like character.

I wouldn't bother with such a game.

Absolutely not. Within days of 9/11 a mod group for Rainbow Six Covert Ops on the PC put out a hastily assembled mod where you led your team against the Taliban, and a badly rendered Bin Laden. Whilst it made the headlines on most mod sites it did so for the right reasons - most of the Rainbow Six community was appaled by it and all the reputable sites refused to host it.

Games have been made about wars before I know, but in many ways this is not the same situation. like Goatboy says, no one hear would want a game about crashing planes into buildings and trying to kill innocents. GTA3 is different - its not really based on one event or any set of people.

Hopefully no publisher is going to stoop low enough to even consider this as a game idea.

If none of the above had taken place, would you like gamers in

Is it?

We play games where we go around shooting Germans, games based on the two world wars.

What's so different about this? Only that events are a lot more recent. I reckon that in a few years there'll be a game like this, right or wrong...

Also, this would just escalate the war further than it already has gone, annoying Afghans (Taliban and Non-Taliban) and the entire idea stinks. This is a very distasteful topic and I hope it's removed.

I think a game will be made, but it won't directly insinuate towards Afghanistan or the taliban. If it did that, it would cause public, moral outrage, even with the families of september.

I think no, I think this is a very badly titled topic, it's just not tasteful.
