I need a new graphics card (currently a tnt2 ;( ) and was thinking of the Kyro3, but does anyone know much about it? Any good websites with updated info on them?

There is a lot of hype being generated on these boards about the kyro III (nice one boogle ). The general consensus is that they will outperform this gen of cards (GF3's, R200) and be up there with the next gen (GF4, R300). Boogle has also repeated an abstract quote from Doom3's John Carmack saying how a mystery card has performs very impressively and uses a completely different approach to everything else. The hope is that he was referring to the kyro III.
People generally think the Kyro III will be revealed in cebit (march 11-17?) but it is highly likely that they will release a statement about it beforehand. I personally expect to be able to buy a kyro III for ~£150 at the end of march/beginning of april.

“People say it will cost £150-200, is this what PowerVR have said or just rumors?”
When I asked ImgTech they said they aim to sell the Kyro III at around $150 to $200.
“Approximatly when in march will it be revealed/release, beginning, middle, end?”
I am no longer aloud to talk about dates. Perhaps some one else can answer.
“faster than the GeForce3 Ti 500 & Radeon 8500? If so by about how much? “
If it has free FSAA then yes it will be a lot faster. If it runs at 250Mhz then it should be faster. Your not going to get a good answer until benchmarks are shown.
“new games will be made with the unreal 2 & doom 3 engines (will it perform well with these engines). “
Lets see if I got this right. You want me to tell you how a card that isn’t out will perform on 2 unfinished engines that are not out.
” How long do you think it would last before I need to upgrade again?”
I think the Kyro III will last 2 to 3 years. But that depends on what you call last. Some people are still happy with a TNT2 while others have to upgrade there cards every 6 months.

I can find facts, figures etc, but these are opinions of those who know what they're on about, which is surely more useful than my half-informed ramblings..
