Not a bad idea which is why Insiders are saying just that, BBC Cefax will confirm the reports that Nintendo plan to release the console prior to the X-box launch! Could it be true?????
Nintendo said the Gamecube date will be announced at Cains on the 5th of February but then they added the game will appear a few weeks later....

In truth, I don't think a few weeks either side of the X-Box launch will make any difference. People know what they want and aren't going to shell out £300 on a different system because it's launched a few weeks earlier.

People are waiting for GC yes, but if they dont want a PS2 and then x-box comes along and its actually quite good then Nintendo are going to lose even more customers. So, releasing BEFORE the x-box would be amazing. People have £350 as you say, they see GC for £200 and it looks cool, so they buy it!
