Four months ago I decided to not play the imported Gamecube's I purchased to sell on, some may reply with how stupid I was. Others may open their mouths watch the lollypop fall out continue questionning my stupidity. Why? Why did you not even set it up to play it just for a bit?

It took me a long time to think about what I was doing, if I threw a GameCube and WaveRace infront of you, giving you the option four months ago of playing it or just selling it. Which would you choose?

Here is how I made my choice:

I did it before, with the GameBoy Advance. I imported from Japan, and was very pleased with myself for having it months before it was sold in shops over here. However, this only novelty (I-have-it-you-dont) wore off and I was left with months before others were enjoying it with me, and also the fact that I had completed the imported games.

I sat there in my lounge, contemplating opening the GameCube box and having a go... (this being a go which wouldn't have finished till the next morning). My father came into the room looking at me looking like Plato laughed then went to unpack it.

'Com on Joby, I want a go you know.'
'Stop dad, let me think about this...'

He stood up, smiled at me, then left the room.

I didn't want to play a console months before anyone else, completing the games I had and also not having the fun of trying to get one at the same time as everyone else on launch. No. I wanted to be playing these machines at the same time as everyone else. Not just nodding and agreeing like I have done before.

Importing ruined part of what excitment I could have had on the GameBoyAdvance. I didn't want that to happen to a console I want more than sliced bread. I shall wait for the PAL release of the GameCube, and I pity the people who imported the console or brought it as an import. You will learn to wait.

Five weeks, thats about all we have left to wait to properly play our own PAL GameCube systems. I don't know about you, but it does seem to have the most excellent and amazing games in development. Metriod just makes me need to loo and Resident Evil's new movies leaves me picking my jaw up from the floor.

The userbase will expand for the GameCube as these 'older' games are released. I know there are solely hardcore Resident Evil games out there, when the GC title comes up, I don't see these people being stopped.

Beautiful, I waited, everytime I went forward to unpack, I grabbed my other hand and pulled that back. That was fun. Guys, the GameCube will be amazing. Capcom cannot be wrong.

We couldn't have it better could we?

The more I think about it, the more I look forward to the games and excitement in the shops and on these very forums....

Sorry Dringo.

Here is to the 'very near' future!
Thanks

What a wise decision and I respect you for being able to make it. I'd never of managed to leave in the box, for sure!
I also could not be more excited by the imminent launch of Gamecube over here and look forward to seeing you in the Ninty forum a little more often when that time comes!
