Why?
I've been here over 800 days and have contributed several topics worth noting. But yet I've won once. ONCE. And that was with a crappy review of a Star Wars RTS on the PC. Looking back it makes me believe GAD winners are based on politics, not quality. And when I say politics, I don't mean Blair, Bush, Saddam, real-world politics. I mean politics on the forum.
In this day and age, politics are creeping in from every angle. The foul stench of corruption even resides here, in the forum. It seems there are qoutas in play. Targets to hit. It's customary that every Notable must win GAD at least once a month. That the popular regs must win at least once a month. That a at least 4 n00bs must win each month. It's all about image.
I thought I'd win GAD this month. Maybe even twice. Now I fear I won't win once.
Why?
My posts were good, I'd offended no-one. Why? WHY?
IT'S NOT FAIR!
What you need is to think less about things you cannot change, and more about changing the things you have influence over.
You say you are 90% vision and 10% drive. What you need is better motivation, which in itself all lies in setting the right goals. The best goals are those that are easist to achieve, and this is where people like you fall down so often.
You start by thinking "I'm going to be famous" or something, which in itself is nigh on impossible. Set yourself lower goals. I'm going to write about the current trend in gaming circles to choose only those games whose gameplay we find familiar. Within that, set a number of goals. I want to mention the over-popularity of first person shooters, despite the relative similarity most of them share to each other.
The best thing about setting goals is rewarding yourself for achieving them. You finish a long-winded few paragraphs on a subject, reward yourself with a cup of tea, packet of crisps, and half an hour with your favorite game or whatever book you're reading.
Then move on to the next target.
Achievement is something which comes to those who know how to work for it.

What's unfair about that?
Where is the good in being able to see something, if you can't touch it?
A man with 10% vision and 90% drive will succeed.
Whoever said life was fair.

Go ahead, let your dreams convince you that they are a reflection of some future reality. Eventually though, your dreams cannot put food on your table.

Not quite sure what to say to that. Moths rarely strike anything more interesting than open flames, they are very much like dreams in that respect.

Well they don't know me NOW. But soon I will emerge from the shadows...

...Sue somebody? Kill the horse? I don't have a horse.
This moth I'm hoping sweet irony will strike again...
