Ok ok well erm lets see, where shall i start, basically i need to know a few things as i am intrieged about this game so much and with the release soon i need to know more as a lot has been kept from us i feel.

- Is there a mode that you can play not on the net?
- Is this on your own or have u got 2 other members controlled by the computer?
- How much is a modem?
- Where can i get one, on SR?
- i heard it is £5 a month, is that true?
- Erm, how do you use the GC modem thingy (may be stupid but i dont know :p)

thanks a lot to anyone who helps me with this

Episode 2 and the Card Battling is exclusive to GameCube, but Episode 1 is multiformat.

you do have to setup a subscription fee of a couple of quid each month, i just setup a direct debit like thing, its easier. i do think nintendo online will be good, once some more games come out! but the attempts so far are not looking promising.
At least XBOX LIVE began with games like Moto GP and Unreal Championship! Both amazing games!

EH?

I've been playing the Phantasy Star series since it was on the Megadrive. Then when it went online with the Dreamcast I was playing it for about 2 years online.

If it's any help, the online version is no great shakes, at least when it was on the Dreamcast. It was impossible, even with a 56k modem connection, to tell the difference between online and offline play except of course in online you had people trying to steal your weapons and people to cooperate with and so on. I preferred the single player mode, there's still loads to do in terms of levelling and finding decent items, even today I could play a game and find a new weapon, it seems there's no end to what's in the game.

On the DC there were no subscription fees. You just connected to the online server and played for as long as you wished to with no added charges (unless you were on a dial-up that charged you at 5p per minute or whatever).

Supposed to be a bit funny, but true. Edbear has imported beta tests and the GameCube has one, average game to it's online name. Fair comparison of the services? I think not.

Not really, I think Nintendo could do something special with GC online.

Thats a very poor defense.

Of course XBox Live is better, as its a dedicated service, not an extra option.
