Ok, so I have been toying around with some ideas that might make SO better, want to change the layout but at the moment that can be left as it is. Also were thinking of trying to raise some money for it to get a proper domain without all the ads in there. But these can wait..

So I want suggestions. Views and ideas on these and anything else you can think on.

new questions for profiles?
Captions for each persons pic?

Remember the idea behind the site is to have info on all of us for us all to use, nothing else so don't suggest pants ideas that make no sense.

You should move the site to Bravenet. It's free, and you get 100Mb of space and loads of extra things to put on it like polls, message boards, automatically updating news and other stuff.

1. The form is easy to make it appear. As long as you feel you have the time and enough space for it in your inbox, you could make it automatically email you the results in a text document when the Submit button is clicked, or just get a PHP script to handle it, but that is hard.

2. A message board, depending on which service you choose, varies in the amount of space used for it. Xsorbit ones do not take up any space of your own as they are remotely hosted, but advertisements are put on the forums unless you get one of their plans where you pay.

3. That is simple to solve. Everyone should just put their ideas on their own webspace, and you link to it, and choose your fave, or set up a poll and the one with the most votes wins.

How much webspace do you get with your service? Do you use Anglefire?

The first one is one I would like but not sure where to start.
Second one isn't really worth the space (which is limited) since we have SR here
And the last one is one I was toying with, have people create new front page, msn page, update page etc then let people pick the best one..

A few ideas:
- A form to submit info rather than via email
- Perhaps your own little SO message board/forum?
- If you can, maybe you could host a little gallery of ideas sent to you which show the best ideas for a new site look? Then, when you have the time, you choose your fave and make it into the actual site

Some of these I could do myself.
