In fairness, anyone else probably won't care about the thread, unless you want to.. um.. follow the game on your own board? No?
Okay then...
Yer, I spent ages setting up the game code as a whole, and now that it's all structured how I want it, adding little bits in, and tweeking it, is quite simple!
:)
Sounds like you're making pretty quick progress now
And, woo woo! Car now skids. And slides out when you powerslide! Tiss all coming together now!
:)
White king E1, start when you're ready :^)
Let me know how the diss works out then. Seems like an odd way to do things, when you can't really know what grade to expect. Guess it's just different to having the smaller modules on the go, and I still can't really predict how they'll mark any one piece of work. Actually I think that's half my problem at the moment...
Good luck though anyway.
Quite odd, but I'm actually enjoying my diss still. Guess I just landed on my feet with the subject, but it feels strange to be making progress while some people are kicking subject ideas around...
Looks like it'll be my only chance for a first as a final module score though, so I'd better make a good job of it...
:^)

Sorry, been busy the past couple days. (well yesterday, and up to now)
Good luck with trying to get a 2:1. I have no idea what I'm gonna get, or on my way to getting. It'll be a big surprise when I get my degree. Well got to hand in my disertation next week, and then by the end of the month I think I find out pretty much what I get for it. So that should give me some indication as to what I'm getting. I hope that I get at least a 2:1. Be quite bummed with anything less. I've always been an overall C student, just excelling in certain subjects. Just wanna do better this time!
As for the chess game, gonna have to concede that one. Kinda went your way after I stupidly lost my castle.
Play again? :)
Right back to trying to get my car to skid and spin.
:)
Screw it, can't be bothered posting it anywhere else.
Ah well, two can't hurt...
Got: 67, 64, 58, 57.
Predictably, the only 20 credit module was the lowest (the others 10)
(240 credits over the last 2 years count to the final grade).
Taking into account how the credits are weighted (x3 for the top third of the credits, x2 for the middle third and x1 for the rest), I'm currently on a 57.83 average, 60 being a 2:1.
I've also looked at what I'll need to drag my grade, kicking and screaming it seems, up to a 2:1.
And as much as I hate to admit it, I think it's just out of reach.
If my diss rules and gets a high 2:1 upwards (I've had firsts on essays before, and it's pretty much one big essay - it's just the exams that let me down), then averaging 60 across the other 50 credits should just sneak me past the post.
Might go check whether they'll round up a >59.5 average to a 60, or if it actually has to be 60.
Oddly, it would give me a much better (but still slim) chance.
At the easier end of the spectrum if I were to get 11 in each of my remaining modules I'd finish with 50.1
If they'd round up from 49.5 (50 being the bottom of 2:2 land), I could get away with scoring 7, and still take the 2:2
(Unless they forced me to re-sit...)
Still, as tempting as scoring in single figures sounds, I plan on trying to keep my head in gear and give the 2:1 my best shot. It makes a lot of difference, at least to a fresh graduate, so I hear.
