Just lost at pool in the league. Played badly and didn't get much luck, but still took it to the black, so I can't be too disappointed.
All the good regulars seem to have gone though ('good' as in not perpertually drunk unpleasant gits). And I spent most of the time fighting the barstubs off my cue. These are the same kinds of people who've broken 2 of my cues in the last 2 years. I struggle to use 'pleasant' language with them.
Shame, it used to be a nice place. Except for the drunk moose who sat on my old cue case, and the wasted barstub who tripped over his own feet, grabbed for the nearest thing to keep himself upright, and took out my second cue.
But they seem to swarm around my current cue like bees at the jam sandwiches in a picnic.. to use a lame analogy.
Plus I wasn't drinking, as I was going to head back to work on my diss (now). Drunks are always harder to deal with when you're sober.

Not nearly enough. I've applied for 2 jobs for the summer, one of which I still might get. I probably won't look for more until after my exams, which makes getting anything decent pretty unlikely.
After that I can drift into a postgrad course. Need to pull my thumb out and look into the grants available for it though. If I can find the time...
