"What's going on?"
I liked that song, she had a massive voice.
Fiercely gay bassplayer woman, but a good song anyway.
Someone from Lush did kill themselves, though I thought it was a bloke. The drummer?
Menswe@r were cool. I think the lead singer had a breakdown.
Presidents on the USA split up.
What I want to know is what happened to The Longpigs?
Damn fine band, two great albums.
Richard Hawley has released a solo album, and is a tour guitarist for Pulp now, so are the Longpigs no more?
Gene & Menswear - picked up on the wave of britpop and subsequently dropped when soon realised they actually weren't very good.
Presidents - A bit too 'wacky' for us brits I imagine.
Gene,
Menswear,
Lush,
Presidents of the USA. (Peaches come from a can, they were put there by a man, in a factory down town...).
And, er... loads more bands that were around in the "Golden Age of Indie" (as my mate calls it. I think he means around 1994 to 1996ish).
It was all pretty cool.
The dude with the handlebar moustache in an orange dress!
"I said get it off, get off, get off my face.."
What a fantastic song.
I saw them at Reading in..er..'94? And they were just as cool live.
Whale.
'I got a hobo-humpin' slobo babe...'
Whale "Hobo Humping Slobo Babe"
"One has diamonds in his pockets, and that's ok now, this one he wants to buy your rockets that's what I said now..marry him or marry me, I'm the one who loves baby can't you see?"
Two one-off songs that I like and singalong to on the rare chance they get played on radio.
Though I do remember a couple of other Spin Doctor songs being released.
"And if you, want to buy me flowers, just go ahead now, and if you..."
